Ms. Riley an Equity Leader in Urban Education, is the proud CEO of Education Formula, LLC. As an Educational Consultant, Shamel supports school-based, district, and non-profit leaders in moving the needle around Innovative, Academic Programming,
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace, and Parent Engagement. Prior to starting her own company, Ms. Riley worked in schools and colleges for 22 years serving in various positions at the district level and in the charter world. She has led as
Principal and Assistant Principal in South LA and in Baltimore city. Also, in a former position, as Senior Manager/Program Analyst, she led Saturday Scholars, a massive district-wide initiative in Washington, DC, and she consulted with CMO leaders on how to work with at-promise students and families on school-community issues. Ms. Riley’s experiences do not end with K-12 education but extends into adult learning and leadership at the Community College.
She is not only dedicated to her craft but gives back to the community by devoting time to service projects with organizations such as: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., the Board of Election, March of Dimes, the PTA, and My Sister’s Place.
Shamel holds a certificate from the USC Rossier Urban Superintendents Academy Certification Program, a Master’s Degree in Education-Instructional Systems Development and an Advanced Professional Certificate in Elementary Education -1-6 and Middle School with Admin I/II endorsements through Johns Hopkins University. Shamel is also the doting mother of three amazing, young sons.
Allison Volga

Ms. Volga, a Bay Area native, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego. She began her career in education as a middle school social studies teacher in Charlotte, NC. Upon returning to California, she led an extended learning program for a public middle school in East San Jose, serving over 160 students, and managing 12 teachers in residency. In 2015, Ms. Volga served as an assistant principal in East San Jose, working tirelessly for three years to transform the school into a thriving middle school. Ms. Volga’s work as a leader at Capitol Collegiate began in 2019 where she remains passionate about developing new teachers and developing strong procedures for a safe school community.
Morgan Watson

Mrs. Watson has more than a decade experience in operations and education. Her experience includes TK-12th grade and post-secondary education. She has provided oversight of Policy, DEI, Marketing and Communications, and Community partnership departments. Additionally, she co-founded and served as Principal for the first Charter School Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) in the state of Texas, YES Prep Thrive.
Mrs. Watson has lead operations and strategy in a number of roles where she utilized her operational expertise to pioneer innovative programs and initiatives. Mrs. Watson’s transition from executive leadership to her current role motivates her to have a broader influence on the students, families and school staff she is distinctly positioned to serve. She joined the CCA team in 2022 and is passionate about creating pathways for success in historically marginalized communities.
